Hippos is a place where under-5s come to play and grow.
It’s also where mums, dads, grandparents and other carers can meet and be supported through the wonderful but challenging time of having a little one.
Space to play
We’re open from 9.30-11.15am every Wednesday during term time.
The cost is just £2 per session for one child and £1 for every additional child. You can pay in cash or on card.
We don’t take bookings so entry is on a ‘first come, first served’ basis but there’s plenty of room. Come and join us!

We have lots of toys big and small, dressing-up clothes, a play house, building things and a craft every week.
There is always an area with books and puzzles and a special baby corner for the really little ones.
In the warmer months, we open up a safe outdoor play area.

At 10.30am, all children get a healthy snack (you can let us know any dietary requirements on the door.)
For grown-ups there’s free tea and fresh coffee and biscuits. Please bring your own lidded cup.

After ‘tidy up time’ (where everyone helps!) we gather round to say hello to Buttons Hippo, sing songs (including Happy Birthday) and hear a short story to round off the morning.
